What is diet? Let me tell you what it is not, it is not a weight-loss programme. So what is it? It is what you eat every day. If you eat a lot of junk food every day, that is your diet. One of my mentors said that a lot of people are digging their grave with teeth and using their tongue as the shovel.
Healthy eating habit is the best way to Prevent Lifestyle Diseases
Many of our commonest illnesses are referred to as lifestyle diseases. Why? because they develop slowly over many years, from the way we abuse our bodies from poor care and end up causing severe pain, suffering and even death.
These conditions are also called chronic degenerative diseases, which means that our health goes from bad to worse as we grow older. Not making health choices can be very costly. The reality is, our bodies degenerate because of the way we treat them.
Commonest lifestyle diseases
Examples of these lifesytyle or chronic degenerative diseases are heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes and hypertension. Are you suffering from any of these? Choosing your food carefully can reverse these problems
Without fear of contradiction, the undeniable proofs are there to show that poor nutrition and bad lifestyle choices during our childhood growing up, put us at risk and open doors for these degenerative diseases to take up residence in our lives and dictate the poor quality life we live.
